WHY WE NEED YOU AT HIDMO'S:
You, the music lovers, make the gigs here. Our success is dependent on you coming and enjoying our music, and a drink, or one of their very expertly prepared East African style platters (share one with a table of friends!).

WEDNESDAYS: YOGI'S WORLD MUSIC 8:30 -10:30pm
Join Yogi and his music friends from all over the world. The lineup and groups will vary, but it will always be good. We're building a World Music Wednesday Night modeled after the successful Sunday night series (see below). We're just getting started; Oct 4th is our first one, featuring the Yoginis world jazz band.

This band features multi-lingual singer and KBCS DJ Samia Panni, who will grace us with some Brazilian bossas, and Latin Percussion heavy and also KBCS DJ Johnny Conga.

Yoginis Lineup:
Yogi on Keys, Compositions
Ed Mays - Drumset
Johnny Conga - Latin percussion
Tim Romain - Bass
Samia Panni - vocals (Portuguese and English)
Note: Our sax man Mike is missing this week, but we hope to have him as many weeks as possible, since he now lives in Olympia.

THURSDAYS: REGGAE WITH MYSTIK I AM. 8 - 10PM

ORIGINAL REGGAE led by vocalist/keyboardist Shemayin, featuring a rich tapestry of vocals and deep trancey grooves. Many of Seattle's well known Reggae and African musicians will be sitting in with her on Thursday nights.

FRIDAYS: African music alternating with Kalass, led by Guitarist/Singer Ganga Clamangou of Chad, and Atlantic Melody, led by Percussionist/Singer Edward Suarez of Guinea. I have seen both of these bands, and they are deserving of a lot more attention than they are getting.

SUNDAYS: AFRICAN MUSIC SERIES
Premier African Groups of Seattle, produced by Rob Pastorok. Rob's in China right now lining up things for his Global Heat band, so I don't have the Oct lineup of groups yet, but as soon as he gets back I'll have that info. Trust me on this, however, it's always good. African Music Sundays won a Best of Seattle Award in the Seattle Weekly this year.
