African Knights, Blues Sisters Jam, Jovino, Show Brazil

Hello lovers of all kinds of good music!

African Knights

The African Knights will be at Hidmo this Sunday Night

This is one of my main groups, we play African style reggae originals and covers, Bob Marley songs, and mix it up with some soukous. We had a blast at Langston Hughes last weekend! This will be the farewell gig for Michel Tyabji, our drummer, before he moves to Los Angeles where fame and fortune surely await! Don't forget we knew you before you became famous, Michel!

Red Hot Blues Sisters

The Red Hot Blues Sisters are hosting an invitational jam session at the Scarlet Tree on Thursday night. Music starts 9:30-ish. These jam sessions are f**kngruuuvin, people! Don't miss out this time! I'll be there and they might be kind enough to let me play a little bit again this time. They don't have anyone to hit any wrong notes except me - and somebody has do it :)

Jovino Santos Neto

Jovino Santos Neto, the local one-man hurricane of Brazilian music, has a choice gig at Bake's place. Bake's place is one of the nicer clubs in the whole metro area, and Jovino's Quinteto is one of the choice Brazilian jazz groups in the northwest.

Saturday, July 30 at 8 PM at Bake's Place (4135 Providence Point Dr. SE, Issaquah, WA 98029 phone: 425-391-3335). JSN Quarteto with Ben Thomas (vibraphone), Tim Carey (bass) and Mark Ivester (drums). A great venue for intimate, live music with great food and ambiance. Reservations recommended. More details at www.bakesplace.org
